T-Mobile offers $1,000 off Apple's foldable iPhone Duo for new lines

T-Mobile is giving customers $1,000 off Apple's first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, when they open a new line on an Experience Beyond plan and port in their number. The discount arrives as bill credits over 36 months.

T-Mobile is offering $1,000 off Apple's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, for customers who open a new line and port in their existing number. The promotion takes 50 percent off the phone's roughly $2,000 price, giving buyers a way to get the device without paying the full amount up front.

The discount is applied as bill credits spread over a 36-month period, for a total of $1,000 in credits. Customers must sign up for a new line on an Experience Beyond plan. There is also a one-time $35 connection charge. The Experience Beyond plan costs $100 per month for a single line with AutoPay, plus taxes and fees.

The plan includes unlimited talk, text, and 5G premium data. Additional perks include Netflix with ads and Hulu subscriptions, Apple TV for $3 per month, unlimited mobile hotspot, T-Satellite access, eligibility for a phone upgrade every year, and a five-year price guarantee. International travelers get unlimited texting and 30GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico, and unlimited texting with 15GB of high-speed data in more than 215 other countries.

Demand for the device is already strong. The first rounds of orders have sold out, and buyers should expect to wait for delivery. T-Mobile says shipping times are longer than normal because of high demand, but it will still honor the offer. The promotion's terms will not begin until the new phone ships.

The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable phone and has two displays: a 5.4-inch outer screen when folded and a 7.6-inch inner screen when unfolded. Apple says the unfolded device is its thinnest iPhone ever. It runs on the new A20 Pro processor, built on a 2-nanometer process, which Apple says delivers 40 percent greater graphics performance than the previous iPhone.

Apple has also begun adding features to the device. The company has released iOS 27.2, which brings Apple Pencil support to the iPhone Duo, as Apple had previously said would arrive later this year. The update also adds an Edge Light feature intended to illuminate the user's face during video calls. The iPhone Duo's revamped iOS 27 controls are designed to work across both screens, and major apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, and Microsoft Outlook already take advantage of the extra display space, though some apps still need further work.
