Alexander brothers sentenced to 30 years each for sex trafficking
Tal, Oren and Alon Alexander, once prominent luxury real estate brokers, received 30-year federal prison sentences in New York for a yearslong sex-trafficking scheme.
Three brothers who rose to prominence in luxury real estate were sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in federal prison for running a yearslong sex-trafficking scheme that prosecutors say lured women with wealth, travel and exclusive properties. U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Caproni handed down the sentences in federal court in New York for Tal Alexander, 40, and his twin brothers Oren and Alon Alexander, 39.
A federal jury convicted all three brothers in March of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, inducement to travel to engage in unlawful sexual activity, and multiple counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. Prosecutors had asked the judge to sentence each brother to life in prison, while their attorneys had sought the 15-year minimum. The brothers were arrested in December 2024 and remained in custody without bail through sentencing.
Before the sentences were imposed, 11 accusers addressed the court. One woman, who used a pseudonym, told the court that a single night and one invitation had « completely wreck[ed] the girl I once was ». Prosecutors alleged in a court filing that the brothers raped or sexually assaulted at least 70 women, describing them as « serial rapists ». During the four-week trial, 11 women testified against the brothers, several of whom said they were minors at the time of the encounters. The women described receiving gifts and being flown to parties and other destinations, where they said they were given drugs before being assaulted.
In his closing argument, prosecutor Andrew Jones told jurors the brothers cultivated the image of wealthy party boys while preying on women. « They used a consistent playbook to lure, isolate and rape their victims », Jones said. « They did it with callousness and a perverse sense of pride. » Throughout the trial, the brothers denied the allegations, and their attorneys argued the encounters were consensual and accused prosecutors of overreach.
Oren and Tal Alexander had become major figures in luxury real estate before their arrests. The pair rose through the ranks at Douglas Elliman, where they brokered major deals, including a nearly $240 million penthouse sale in 2019 that was then the most expensive residential sale in U.S. history. They later co-founded the luxury real estate firm Official in 2022. Alon Alexander did not work in real estate; he was an executive at his family's private security company.
Addressing the court before sentencing, Oren Alexander said he was « not here to discount what they have said » and expressed regret for some of his past behavior toward women. He insisted, however, that he and his brothers had not committed the crimes for which they were convicted. « My brothers and I have never drugged or raped anyone. We never trafficked anyone for sex and we never conspired to hurt anyone », he said.
Lindsey Acree, who testified that Tal Alexander and another man raped her at a Hamptons home in 2011 after she drank something that left her feeling paralyzed, questioned the brothers' motives. « The biggest thing is why? Why did you do this? » she asked the court. « I don't understand the cruelty. I don't understand the hatred towards women. »
Prosecutors said the alleged sexual violence stretched back more than two decades, beginning when the brothers were in high school in Miami. U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton described the conduct after the March verdict as « calculated, brutal sexual abuse that, unimaginably, the defendants celebrated ». Court filings previously obtained by Fox News Digital alleged the brothers used « the promise of luxury experiences, travel, and accommodations » to lure women to locations where they were then sexually assaulted. Additional reporting indicates the brothers still face civil lawsuits and further criminal charges.
