Nintendo Unveils Lego Link and Epona Set for Zelda 40th Anniversary
Nintendo revealed a new Ocarina of Time-themed Lego set featuring Link and Epona during its Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, with a spring 2027 launch expected.
Nintendo has announced a new Lego set inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, featuring the series' hero Link and his horse Epona. The collectible model was revealed during the company's Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct and is designed as a display piece aimed at adult fans of the franchise.
The set, officially titled The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – Link & Epona, contains 1,750 pieces and is scheduled to launch in spring 2027. Nintendo has not yet disclosed the price, but the company's previous Zelda Lego releases offer some indication of what buyers might expect. The Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle set, which includes minifigures of Link and Zelda alongside a full-size Ganon build, contains 1,003 pieces and retails for $129.99. The larger 2-in-1 Great Deku Tree set, at 2,500 pieces, sells for $299.99. The Link & Epona model falls between those two in piece count, suggesting its price may land somewhere in that range as well.
The announcement came as part of a broader celebration marking four decades of The Legend of Zelda franchise. During the same Direct presentation, Nintendo revealed a Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 console, new amiibo figures, a playable Ocarina accessory, and additions to the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan. The company also announced a series of anniversary concerts scheduled for the coming months.
The Lego Link & Epona set joins a growing line of Zelda-themed building sets that Nintendo has partnered with the Lego Group to produce. The first two releases, both based on Ocarina of Time, have been positioned as premium collectibles rather than traditional children's toys, and the new model follows that same approach. Nintendo described the upcoming set as a collectible display model for adults in a press release issued after the Direct.
Fans have responded with considerable interest to the reveal, as Link and Epona represent one of the most iconic pairings in the Zelda series. The Ocarina of Time installment, originally released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998, is widely regarded as one of the most influential video games ever made, and its imagery continues to resonate with players decades later.
Nintendo has not confirmed an exact release date or final pricing for the Link & Epona set beyond the spring 2027 window. Additional details are expected to be announced closer to launch. The company has said it will continue rolling out anniversary-related merchandise and events through the rest of 2026 and into 2027 as part of the celebration.
