Dominique Frot’s latest projects include Karma and a new Éric Judor comedy
The French actress has a confirmed role in Guillaume Canet’s October thriller, plus completed work with Quarxx and a new comedy made with Éric Judor.
French actress Dominique Frot remains firmly in work in 2026, with a slate that stretches from a major Guillaume Canet thriller to a new Éric Judor comedy and a completed fantasy film by Quarxx. The clearest date on her calendar is October 21, when Canet’s Karma is scheduled to open in France after a high-profile out-of-competition presentation at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Karma stars Marion Cotillard as Jeanne, a woman trying to rebuild her life in northern Spain before the disappearance of a young boy brings suspicion back onto her. Denis Ménochet, Leonardo Sbaraglia and Luis Zahera are among the other prominent cast members. Frot is listed in professional production records and by her representation as part of the ensemble. The film was shot in 2025 in Spain and several French locations and is now complete.
Her next confirmed film credit is less precisely dated. Le Pire du milieu, a comedy directed by Éric Judor, filmed in the Île-de-France region from September 22 through October 31, 2025. Crew United lists Frot in the cast and Gaumont as the distributor. The project has circulated under more than one working title, including Le Puy des Oufs. What it does not yet have, in the production records checked, is a reliable public release date. That makes it a real upcoming project rather than a movie that should be attached to a speculative month.
Frot has also completed Les Âmes en peine, directed by Quarxx. The film is a dark fantasy set in a remote 19th-century village where a mysterious condition known as the “Black Evil” leaves people trapped in a prolonged state of physical and spiritual decline. Production listings place Frot alongside Thierry Frémont, Jean-Baptiste Maunier and Ophélia Kolb. The project is marked finished, though its distribution timing is still less defined than Karma’s.
Her 2026 work is not limited to acting. In April, Frot played a prominent role at the Festival International des Jeunes Acteurs in Paris. She is part of the FIJA organization and served as president of the jury for film-school shorts in the Pass Culture section. The third edition ran April 17–24, and the festival has already opened submissions for 2027. For an actress whose career has long moved among stage work, screen acting, directing and teaching, the festival role fits a broader pattern of supporting younger performers and new writing.
Several of her 2025 movies remain useful reference points for audiences discovering her now. In God Save the Tuche, Jean-Paul Rouve’s latest entry in the hugely popular French comedy franchise, Frot played Lady Gin To. The movie is currently offered for rental on TF1+. She also appeared as Madame Closier in Florian Hessique’s La Tournée, released in June 2025. Romane Bohringer’s Dites-lui que je l’aime opened in December and continued on the international festival circuit in 2026, with Frot appearing under her own first name in a film built around memory, family and the porous line between documentary and fiction.
One part of her current slate needs more caution. Frot’s official website still lists Scènes de ménage, Nébuleuse and Triple je under an “in production” heading. The same page, however, still carries FIJA information dated to 2025. Those titles are therefore best treated as projects she has publicly listed, not as independently confirmed 2026 releases.
The overall picture is straightforward: Frot has not stepped away from the screen. She is moving through a particularly varied phase, with a Cannes-launched thriller, a mainstream comedy, a genre film and ongoing festival work all overlapping. For viewers looking for the next firm date, Karma on October 21 is the anchor; the rest of her slate should come into focus as distributors announce their schedules.
